A brief explanation for the curious, the skeptical, and the mildly existential.
Artificial intelligence is very good at many things: recognizing patterns, summarizing information, and producing language that resembles thought. What it cannot do—and what it will not do—is understand why communication collapses between minds.
That is where my work begins.
I don’t “fix behavior,” and I don’t teach people how to mask.
I examine the assumptions underneath communication—the hidden architecture no one realizes they’re using—and I redesign the system so that meaning finally has somewhere to go.
AI can predict outcomes.
It cannot determine which outcomes matter.
My role sits upstream of automation.
I architect the cognitive landscape AI must operate within.
So is my work threatened by AI?
Only if AI learns to:
- perceive invisible expectations,
- reconstruct the social substrate of meaning-making,
- recognize when a request is structurally impossible,
- intuit emotional context without emotional bias, and
- model cognition from the inside, not the outside.
In short: no.
AI can augment my practice—and I use it strategically:
AI handles the repetition.
I handle the recursion.
AI drafts scripts, formats findings, processes transcripts, and generates alternative phrasings. It multiplies my reach but does not replace the perceptual engine by which I identify why a mind and a system cannot hear each other.
AI is a tool.
I am the person who determines what the tool is pointed at.
The real threat isn’t AI. It’s assumption.
Most systems assume that everyone:
- perceives stimuli the same way,
- uses language with the same structure,
- has compatible working memory,
- interprets time, priority, and relevance identically.
They do not.
When assumptions are wrong, communication fractures.
What looks like “behavior” is often an architectural mismatch.
My work is not emotional, therapeutic, or compensatory.
It is structural.
I identify the moment where comprehension becomes impossible, and then I rebuild the environment so understanding has a legal address.
Why this matters now
As AI accelerates institutional workflows, miscommunication becomes more expensive. Systems will get faster—meaning misunderstandings will get faster, too.
You cannot automate a broken assumption.
You can only propagate it.
My job is to prevent that propagation.
AI may streamline tasks.
I determine which tasks are coherent in the first place.
That is not something intelligence can outsource.
Not even to itself.
A brief but important clarification:
AI may help me format language, but it never learns my clients. I do not upload personal histories, identifiers, or confidential details into ChatGPT—or any other system. The simplest way to say it
AI interprets patterns.
I interpret intent.
Until those two can be aligned without collateral damage, this work remains necessary—not as an add-on, but as infrastructure.
